Our StoryI am the founder of The Rooted Home Learning Center, a home-based infant care and early learning program built on nurturing relationships, intentional education, and a deep respect for childhood. I am a proud mother of two child daughter currently in high school and, in October 2025, we joyfully welcomed our son into the world. Motherhood has been the heart of my journey and continues to inspire my passion for early childhood care and development.
I began my career in early childhood education at the age of 18 in 2006, working at a Montessori preschool here in Austin. Over the years, I have gained experience across multiple preschool settings and learning philosophies, including play-based, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf environments. Through this diverse background, I have come to deeply appreciate each philosophy and believe that every approach offers meaningful ways to help children blossom to their fullest potential.
I graduated from Austin Community College in 2015, earning my Child Development Certification, and I continue to expand my knowledge through ongoing education in child development. In 2024, I received my Director Credentials, further equipping me to lead a high-quality early learning program with intention and care.
In addition to classroom experience, I have spent many years babysitting and nannying for families throughout the Austin community. These close, family-centered roles have strengthened my understanding of infant care and helped me build lasting relationships with families. Testimonials from families I have worked with will be shared on our website as a reflection of the trust and connections built over the years.
The Rooted Home Learning Center currently serves infants, with the long-term vision of growing alongside our community. As we build strong relationships with families and neighbors, we hope to one day expand into our forever home within the community. Our program is Reggio Emilia and Montessori inspired, blending child-led exploration, hands-on learning, and thoughtfully prepared environments that support curiosity, independence, and emotional security.
On a personal note, I am a lifelong Austinite who has watched this city grow and change over the years. I love reading and was once part of a book club that brought me great joy. At this stage of life, my days are filled with caring for my new baby boy, preparing my infant care program, and helping my daughter explore college options as she enters her final year of high school. I enjoy spending quality time with my family and traveling whenever we can.
Opening The Rooted Home Learning Center is the realization of a long-held dream—one rooted in family, community, and a deep love for children. My goal is to provide a warm, safe, and enriching environment where infants are nurtured from the very beginning and families feel supported every step of the way.
