Frequently Asked Questions

  • At this time, The Rooted Home Learning Center serves infants. Our focus is on providing high-quality, nurturing care during the most important early stage of development. As we grow and build strong connections within our community, we hope to expand in the future.

  • We are a home-based infant care program offering a warm, calm, and developmentally supportive environment. Our setting is intentionally small to ensure each infant receives individualized attention, responsive

  • Our program is Reggio Emilia and Montessori inspired. This means we value:

    • Child-led exploration

    • Respect for each child as capable and curious

    • Hands-on, sensory-rich experiences

    • Thoughtfully prepared environments

    • Strong relationships between caregiver, child, and family

While infants learn primarily through relationships and sensory experiences, these philosophies guide how we observe, respond to, and support each child’s development.

  • I have been working in early childhood education since 2006, beginning at age 18 in a Montessori preschool here in Austin. I hold a Child Development Certification from Austin Community College (2015) and earned my Director Credentials in 2024. My experience includes Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, and play-based programs, as well as many years of babysitting and nannying for Austin families.

  • Infants follow individualized schedules based on their needs. A typical day includes:

    • Responsive feeding and diapering

    • Safe floor play and sensory exploration

    • Outdoor time when weather permits

    • Reading, music, and gentle interaction

    • Plenty of rest and one-on-one care

We believe routines should be flexible and responsive, especially during infancy.
